SB 301 Power Amplifier

For the technically minded the SB-301 is a Class AB two channel amplifier that delivers over 300 watts per channel at 8 ohms.

For the not so technically minded that means it's a really good stable amplifier unit when the speakers demand a lot of power to drive bass without distortion or treble with detail and finesse and it will cope with inefficient speakers. The standing temperature is lower than that encountered in Class A series designs because it's a Class AB design.

It occupies a niche in audio systems for the person that really loves big dynamic sound like movies, orchestral pieces and of course playing music loud!

The physical construction of the SB-301 is based on the SA series designs so it has the same distinctive aesthetic as the Class A products and indeed much of the electronics topology is derived from that Class A history

This amplifier delivers all the dynamics, finesse and transparency that Plinius is renowned for. Like all Plinius products it is very reliable and will rise to the challenge of difficult operating conditions time and time again.

Amplifier Configuration Selector (ACS) switch
The rear panel ACS switch allows for the amplifier to be configured for Stereo RCA or XLR modes.

Remote Trigger Input
When connected to a preamplifier trigger output, the amplifier will switch out of Standby and be ready for use when the preamplifier is taken out of standby.

Ground Lift Switch
This allows for the signal ground to be isolated from the main chassis earth. This can assist in resolving unwanted ground loops or hum due to duplicate ground paths in some systems.

WBT and Neutrik Connectors
High quality WBT RCA and Neutrik XLR input connectors are fitted along with WBT output speaker terminals to ensure a low distortion interface between your cables and the amplifier.

Auricap Capacitors
Audience AV supply the Auricap XO capacitors used in several key areas of the circuit.

Siltech Wiring
Siltech premium 'G7' silver/gold wire provides a perfect connection between components to give clear, fast and detailed presentation of the music signal.

Aluminium Construction
The aluminium construction provides a rigid non-magnetic housing to eliminate unwanted magnetic fields that can interfere with the sensitive audio signals.

The Absolute Sound
Equipment Report

"I’ll cut to the chase. The SB-301 is the best amplifier I’ve reviewed to date. Hugely powerful yet lithe and graceful, it’s like Godzilla in Capezios. It launches dynamics that you thought your speakers weren’t capable of. Time and again, it put some of the world’s most demanding models through their paces"
By Neil Gader

RE Music

"This amplifier satisfies all the requisites that a today's solid state of quality can offer in terms of undistorted power and clean sound"
By Paolo Di Marcoberardino
